Expert Shear Sharpening. Using precision techniques and industry-leading expertise, we restore sharpness, balance, and smooth cutting action—so you can create with confidence.

Your Sharpening Includes our Expert 8 Step Process:

  • Step 1: Blades carefully examined under magnification to identify any damage, then disassembled and cleaned.
  • Step 2: Blades’ ride-line is hand restored.
  • Step 3: Blades sharpened by hand using advanced precision equipment.
  • Step 4: Blades polished on a crystallite pad and leather stropping to ensure a razor shape edge.
  • Step 5: Parts that are worn or need replacing (ie. screws, washers, and scissor bumpers) are replaced free of charge.
  • Step 6: Shears are reassembled, lubricated, re-tensioned, and balanced.
  • Step 7: A cut test along the length of the blades using specialty fabric or hair is done.
  • Step 8: Lastly, your shears are carefully packaged for return to you.

Getting Your Shears to Hello.

  1. Wrap your shears in a protective covering and place in a padded envelope or box.
  2. Ship to us via your preferred traceable carrier to:

  1. Your shears will be serviced and return shipped back to you within 24 hours of receiving them via Canada Post or UPS (24 hours does not include shipping time).

Shipping Cost

  • Customers are responsible for the shipping cost to send their shears to Hello Scissor Co.
  • A return shipping fee is charged at time of booking.
  • Return shipping is FREE for two or more pairs.

Terms and Conditions:

Please be advised that by placing your order with Hello Scissor Co. and/or using our website, you agree to read and accept our terms of sale and site outlined below.  It is important to understand all policies and terms and conditions below before placing your order with Hello Scissor Co. 

 Consent:

By using the Hello Scissor Co. site, you consent to our Terms, Conditions and Warranty.

 Sharpening Sales and Services:

All payments, sales, and services purchased through the Hello Scissor Co. website are Final Sale and a refund will not be given.   However, if Hello Scissor Co. determines that your scissors are not able to be serviced due to their condition or age, a refund will be issued, minus the return shipping costs.  Hello Scissor Co. reserves the right to make the final call on sharpening/servicing to ensure your scissors are not damaged further.  

 Turnaround Time:

Turnaround time is usually 24 hours – 48 hours from receipt of scissors, depending on the condition and what becomes required.  Shipping time is NOT included in Hello Scissor Co.’s turnaround time guarantee.   Please note that our stated turnaround time may be affected by holidays or other unforeseen circumstances.

 Warranty Statement:

Hello Scissor Co. warrants that the sharpening services provided will be free from defects in workmanship for a period of 10 days from the date of service.  If any issues with the sharpness or performance of the scissors arise within this period, we will re-sharpen them at no additional cost.

This warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, including but not limited to improper tension setting, dropping, nicking, or improper handling of the scissors by the customer upon receipt of scissors from Hello Scissor Co.

 Shipping:

Please be sure to include your name, address, phone number and email with your scissors when you ship them to Hello Scissor Co.  Ideally, include the printed order or confirmation email with your scissors.  Include any additional information that you would like us to know or work on.  Hello Scissor Co. is not responsible for damage or lost items caused by shipping.  Please purchase insurance with the carrier of your choice if you wish.  FREE insured ($100.00) domestic Return Shipping included within Canada. 

 Shipping Insurance:

If you require more insurance than what is included for the FREE insured ($100.00) domestic Return Shipping, you must notify us first by email at info@helloscissors.com, so that we may arrange the extra insurance be added to the return shipping at the purchasers cost.  Hello Scissor Co. is not responsible for lost or damaged items that exceed the insured amount for the Return Shipping.

 Indemnity:

The customer agrees to indemnify, defend, and save harmless Hello Scissor Co., its directors, officers, employees, agents, partners and contractors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

  1. The use, operation, or performance of the sharpened scissors after the service has been completed, including any injury, damage, or loss caused by the customer's use of the scissors;
  2. Any claims or legal actions resulting from the improper use or handling of the scissors after the sharpening service has been performed;
  3. Any breach by the customer of the terms and conditions of this agreement.

 

This indemnity shall survive the completion of the sharpening service and shall remain in effect even if the customer is no longer engaged with Hello Scissor Co.


Limited Liability:

The customer agrees that the scissor sharpening services provided by Hello Scissor Co. are performed with due care and skill. However, Hello Scissor Co. shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising directly or indirectly from the use of the sharpened scissors or any related services, including but not limited to any defects, damages, or issues that arise after the service is completed.  In no event shall Hello Scissor Co. be responsible for any incidental, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, business interruption, or any other financial loss, even if Hello Scissor Co. was advised of the possibility of such damages.  The maximum liability of Hello Scissor Co., whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the sharpening service in question. This clause does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited by law.

 Trademark and Intellectual Property:

All trademarks, service marks, trade names, trade dress and logos appearing on the site are the property of Hello Scissor Co. For permission to use any material from this site, and or any of our Trademarked Products, you must receive our prior permission and our expressed written consent.
